i received an update about 2 weeks ago, file name "updater.exe" i allowed the update to continue. the next screen came up "important to run update" clicked on the "next" button, the "connecting to update server" screen comes up, the green scrolls across the bar and then nothing it just sits there with the green scrolling across. waited several minutes for it to do something then i just closed it out. now everyday when i open firefox this update pops up. i try to download it but never works. i've let it sit for 15 minutes to see if it would make connection, nothing, i've click on the "show details" line in the "important to run" screen but nothing come up. i downloaded the upgrade that came out last week no problems an this update still pops up. so how do i make it run or how do i get rid of it. thank you for your time

See:

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You may need to delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
