Since upgrading to 4 the finger print pass on my HP won't work...I was told it's called a biometrx sytem, whatever that means

My HP laptop has a feature called Simple Pass that allows me to load in my passwords and gain access to my various accounts and programs with the swipe of a finger. Since i upgraded to the latest version of Firefox that feature will not work. And when I try to reload the password it tells me that Firefox doesn't recognize that program...help, please...and make it simple cuz I'm not very computer savy. thanx, cg
