Why do non-facebook sponsored ads show up on facebook?

I have tried to disable my add-ons and cleared history/cache as facebook suggested, however, I still have non-facebook sponsored ads on facebook.

go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmark on "Block Pop-up Windows" -> Click OK. This will block Pop-up ads. If you want to Block ads other than Pop-ups then try this add-on. Its called AdBlock Plus & its the best for Blocking unwanted Ads.
