Why won't some embedded videos show up on websites?

Some videos embedded in websites don't show up, are blacked out, have "Advertisement" written at top of space where video should be, etc. Whitelisting for Ghostery and disabling AdBlock+ on sites don't help. Disabling all extensions fixes it, but I can't determine which extension is at fault.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

If the problem is with ABP then try to ask advice at the ABP forum.
