hello, what site are you trying to visit & exactly what error message are you getting? (please provide as many information as possible)
iT IS JUST BLANT
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO READY TO FOAM AT THE MOUTH
IT IS:
http://dirsurveys.com/12381/?id=329217750&samtag=3&pid=18580787
But I googled it and it was dirsurveys.com it is a legit site, I am invited to do a survey for Petco. I have now spent way way way way too much time oon this. I can't even figure out this browser. You used to be able to say which sites were okay, which to block, i click on the tools and now really can't find where it would enable me to set my OWN STANDARDS OF SETTINGS. I AM GROWING MORE AND MORE UNHAPPY WITH THIS BROWSER I USED TO LOVE IT. This is taking up so much time, costing me more problems when somethign gets stressful not helpful, it's time to drop it. thanks for trying. I don't even see how to set this my way. i check the add ons and i see stuff i didn't allow.
Can you tell me the exact error message you were seeing? It's possible that the site was temporarily put on Google SafeBrowsing list (which is what blocks websites that are insecure, virus infected, etc. It's off now so you should be able to visit it (or just add an exception and go to it anyway)
i can open this site without any issue - try to reset firefox.
It doesn't say anyting, it just says: "blank"
AND I can get to the site using google, no problem. But when I click the link in the survey which you are supposed to do instead of going to the specific survey it the page sjust says: "blank" I am downloading chrome. I do not wish to go through this kind of thing. I loved firefox but now they have made it much too difficult to set to my specifications.
I TOO CAN GET TO THE SITE OKAY.
BUT I CAN'T GET TO IT CLICKING THE LINK IN THE SURVEY
I GET A PAGE THAT SAYS "BLANK" IT IS A BROWSER BLOCKING IT
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
GINAHERE, I know you are upset but you can get the same message across without using the internet form of shouting/being rude by typing in all Caps. Thank you.
Excuse me, but it is very frustrating when you ask for help, ask for advice, and it is obvious that the respondent just posted for the sake of posting, and did NOT bother to read what the person posted.
That does NOT help. So it makes it clear you have to SPEAK LOUDER.

What was the problem then, cookies, javascript, or maybe your own security software ?
Glad it was sorted out anyway
The same problem of these survey scams was posted on May 25th 2012 by Maelkemi. One reply 11 minutes later by Eddyc suggested running 'Malwarebytes' and 'Spybot'. That was nearly 12 months ago and the problem is still there. Since neither Google Chrome; Internet Explorer and Safari seem to have this problem and Firefox still allows it to persist, it seems to me that Firefox haven't the expertise to fix them; or perhaps they are in on these scams. Whatever, surely it is up to Firefox to fix it or admit they don't know how. They must know what is going on. In the mean time it is probably the wise course to use other Internet Providers/Browsers. Why waste precious time with businesses who don't care about their customers? del1000
del1000,
Firefox, does care about what users think, and on this forum we try to help users that have problems.
If you have your own problem you are always best starting your own thread by asking your own question from
Note in nearly all these cases this sort of problem will be caused by users installing software, possibly unintentionally, or by malware. This is not something that all Firefox users have a problem with. Hopefully most Firefox users take security seriously and take basic simple precautions.
Modified
del, please read a post before adding your own comment. This one was solved by the original poster, and is about them not being able to reach a website they wanted to go to. You seem to be having a problem with an unwanted pop-up. Please start a new thread about that and we can help you solve the issue :)
Almost everytime I click on a like a bar near the top of the page shows up just under the address bar that says the site is being blocked. At the right hand end of the bar there is a word that says allow. If you click on the word allow it allows the link to go through. If it were just one link it wouldn't be so bad but at the end of the day it mounts up. Then make it day after day and now we are talking a lot of real time being lost. Please fix.
Hi j_oryan, could you review the following setting in the Options dialog (or on Mac/Linux, the Preferences dialog):
On the Advanced tab > General: "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" - uncheck this and test again
More info: Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox
If that doesn't help, could you start a new question with your system information and installed add-ons, and describe the steps to re-create the problems in more detail? Also, is it a Facebook like button, or a button that belongs to the site? You can do that here:
I am not talking about the pop-up blocker. The entire page is blocked, and blank. there is NO "allow" tab, which happens when they block a pop-up. It is not a pop-up being blocked. Those are obvious.
My question was so long ago. Luckily, I have not had the issue happen in a while, so maybe mozilla released an update that fixed it.
Thank you. This link may actually be where the problem is solved.
