Hi there

Firefox on crashing restarts and has session restore tab. But when I click on the tab there is a totally blank page. This started 3 weeks ago.

I havent added any new add-ons or changed any settings. Everything is as it has been for months now. I know I can go in and replace the session restore with the backup but I dont want to have to do that EVERY time it crashes. I want the session restore to do what it is supposed to do.

I have checked all the session restore settings and they are all fine.

When I upgraded to firefox 42.0 it fixed the problem for one crash then it just went back to the way it was before. Blank tab.

Can anyone help me with this as I need firefox to remember its's tabs I cant keep bookmarking all tabs all the time.

There seem to be a few people on here with different degrees of this problem.

I am on a Mac OS 10.8.5 Firefox Version 42.0

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s).

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the sessionstore file(s). Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

I noted on the about:crashes there were a lot that did not have BP further down the list do you want all of them?

Went back to september for all the ones without bp in front. Though my issue only has been over the last few weeks. Though firefox itself has been crashing a lot for a few months.

For some time now, a lot of Mac’s with Microsoft programs have been crashing. Check with Microsoft / Mac support sites.

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

It is 42.0 I updated it a day before I sent the queston, but it was from the previous version not 32.0.3. I think I had skipped one update. I think I was running 40.something

Any ideas anyone.

It crashed yesterday and I am totally up to date having installed the most recent flash update when prompted a couple of days ago.

This time it did give me the session restore screen and it restored all the tabs but just as blank empty tabs.

Hi there sorry real life got in the way and I havent had a chance to get back to this. I did the session restore thing, renamed and moved the file and restarted worked once then went back to not restoring. Strangely ennough it crashed earlier this week and when I re opened without using the crash reporter button it restored all the tabs. But I tried this today when it crashed and nothing just back to the same blank page. So I closed and tried using the crash reporter restore button and again nothing.

Any other suggestions on possible fixes without loosing all my history and other info? Or a way to save my info and wiping firefox and starting from scratch?
