I just upgraded to FF 48.0 and now when I open a new window in private browsing mode, instead of coming up with a blank page, as it did before the upgrade, it comes up with a purple page and an explanation of private browsing. Please help! I just want a blank white page!

Thanks, Debbie

Chosen solution

I found an add-on (Blank Private Browsing Page) that gives me a blank page. If anyone else needs it, it comes from here: https://github.com/ipotable/BlankPrivateBrowsingPage

Good until firefox incorporates this simple preference....

This sort of defeats part of the purpose of 'private' browsing, if anyone in your immediate vicinity can see this bright purple screen come up! I cannot believe this was intentional. Anyone? No one? No help at all on this?
