I use the tiles on new tab as Bookmarks, can you add more tiles?
I find the Bookmarks in Firefox to be reprehensible and incomprehensible, so I use the tiles on the new tab pages as my bookmarks. Can you devise a way to add more tiles to the page?
Chosen solution
By default, Firefox prepares 15 tiles for the new tab page (3 rows with 5 tiles each). However, many users have a zoom level + screen size where it's more common to see 8 tiles (2 rows with 4 tiles each). The add-on probably is the easiest solution, but if you do not want to install an add-on for this, you can make some settings changes and adjust the zoom level on the page to fit more tiles.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste newt and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtab.preload preference to switch the value from true to false -- this helped in older versions with Firefox remembering the desired zoom level on the new tab page
(4) To add more rows of tiles, double-click the browser.newtabpage.rows preference and enter the desired value (default is 3)
(5) To add more tiles per row, double-click the browser.newtabpage.columns preference and enter the desired value (default is 5)
