How can I delete some folders?
I have the folders: "Sent", "Sent Items" and "Junk", "Junk E-mail". Some of my sent emails go into "Sent" and some into "Sent Items". Similarly, some my junk emails go into "Junk" and some into "Junk E-mail". I would like to delete the "Sent Items" and "Junk E-mail" folders and of course use only the "Sent" and "Junk" folders. However, I am unable to delete the "Sent Items" and "Junk E-mail" folders. I am using Thunderbird 52.2.1 (32-bit) on a Windows 10 system. I have attached my account settings for my Junk folder.

You need to fix your configuration before you consider deleting anything.
Thunderbirds default folder names and those on your server are apparently in conflict. first go to the synchronization and storage setting and click advanced. This will list the folders your mail server offers Thunderbird. based on that list note which Thunderbird should be using. Like "Junk E-mail" instead of junk.
Move existing messages that are in the "wrong" folder to the correct ones.
Now work through the setting in junk, copies and folders and server settings and correct the folder to be used for trash, send drafts junk etc.
If the folders do not disappear you can now delete them as you have removed their "special" status by selecting other folders to perform those essential functions.
You might have issues with junk that you mark not junk reverting if you use the server folder. But it will be a "suck it an see" situation. some folk have trouble others do not. depending you the server software used. you can always change is to something else if it becomes a problem.
Instead of looking under junk, look at copies and folders. and make changes there for
