I needed a Firefox add-on for my laptop that would convert YouTube to MP3 and read that all FF add-ons are safe. But, I've tested 2 so far and both came with ads that hijacked my browser. Both hijacks were pop-up screens and 1 was for an adult video game and the other was a LOCKED screen that blared a loud alarm and verbal warning that I had been infected with a virus! (the adult video game came with a sexy female voice that stated that I needed to be 18 years old to enter - very embarrassing in public!). How can I get an MP3 converter that is safe??

Sorry, to hear that.

I use Internet Download Manager on Windows but for Linux, I use Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express add-on. This is the best one I've used so far, previously I used SaveFrom.net helper all-in-1 / youtube downloader

Give both of them a try, see which one works out for you.

I tried both of your links and neither would work. I got an error message with both saying the Youtube no longer allowed.

Hi, please if not already don so disable the add-ons then please scan for malware. You may need to go to a malware forum of your choice to get rid of everything. This is the most important thing to do 1st.

Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :

Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help :

Post in only 1 forum, then wait.

You can report the add-ons from the pages you downloaded them from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/ to look them up or as per Fred says.

The malware needs to be removed by the sounds of it not allowing you to download. This is by malware design. So please look after the issue and let the Pros help if you need to.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
