I get the following message when I try the website "https://www.merriam-webster.com/"

Something interfered with this website loading

This could be a temporary problem with your network, or due to your adblocker

Try:

   Check your internet connection and reload the page
   If you are using an adblocker disable it by clicking on the adblock icon in your browser toolbar
   If the problem persists, consider leaving a message on the adblock user forums

Are you still having the problem? I had no problem EST 4 am

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

That's not the only thing FredMcD mentioned though .....

I have checked whether the website is being blocked by addons/addblocks and tracking protection, but this is not the case

Probably (another) rhetorical question : Did you check your internet connection and reload the page  ?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
