In trying to remove a duplicate email account, I removed both accounts (duplicate and original). Is there a way to restore the removed emails?

My email account was showing up as a duplicate and I used the "remove account" feature to eliminate the duplicate, but the feature deleted both versions of the account, thus all my saved emails disappeared. Is there a way to restore them?

I did add it back - but the stores emails / folders didn’t reappear. I assume they’re still on my hard drive but I don’t know how to tell the email client to go find those stored emails.
