I recently signed up with Go Daddy for domain and web hosting. They use Office 365 email. I cannot get Thunderbird to work with Office 365. Initially, I could get the email to receive through Thunderbird, but it would not send - i.e. Tbird would accept the smtp settings. After two days and over 10 communications and almost as many "solutions" the smtp still would not work. Finally, Go Daddy support suggested re-installing Thunderbird. Now I can get it to set up the email at all. I get the following error: "Configuration could not be verified. If your user name and password are correct, it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account. Try selecting another protocol." I have also tried Exchange protocol and that doesn't work either.

Correction: Tbird would *not* accept smtp settings
