Replacing existing cache file with another.
Is it possible to edit an existing cache entry? I accidentally deleted my cache, but was able to recover some of the files, as well as restore an older back up of the file. In about:cache, I can see the cache for the backup file for the correct site at a size of 149kb with the header showing raw gzip data. (starting with 1f 8b) The recovered file I have I believe is the same cache entry, but the recovered version since it's sitting at 154kb.
My question is where do I find the 149kb version that is currently in my firefox cache? Browsing through the cache files the largest is only 42kb, and seems unrelated. Is there a way to replace the backed up version with the restored version? The files themselves are gzip compressed, but does firefox add it's own layer of compression for storing things that I need to undo first?

Quick edit, I should add this is a hacky workaround to not having been able to recover the index file. The old backup should have an identical structure, so I just need to replace the cache file itself and the current index should hopefully pick it up.
