I have been using a POP3 server for my email for a long time and I would like to switch it to IMAP. From the online help for Thunderbird, it sounds like I can't switch server types on an existing profile and will need to set up a new profile to use IMAP. Is that correct? Is there a way to copy all of my emails from my old profile to my new one? I see the import option on the tools menu, but how do I export from the old profile?

Thanks.

Chosen solution

Copy the mail from the POP account to Local Folders, confirm the copy, remove the POP account from Tools/Account Settings, Account Actions, add the account as IMAP. No need to create a new profile.
