multiple copies of emails
Since I got the latest version of Thunderbird (102?) I have been getting multiple copies of some emails from the server. The copies do not come at the same time but one whenever Thunderbird goes to get my messages. It was just 2 or 3 copies at first but today it has been sometimes 8 or more copies for some and is getting worse. Also, when I request it to get messages, it tells me it is busy processing or something like that. It can go several hours before I get messages.
I deleted my trash and junk on my server account (as suggested in a response to a similar problem to mine) but that did not help.
Also, Thunderbird knows the messages are duplicates. It says, for example, '4 new messages received'. However, I have received dozens in total, all the others duplicates. The inbox marks them all as new so at least that helps me screen them faster.
Please help. Thank you for your time.

Hello, Woow that's weird.. What is your mail provider ? Is it a Gmail account ? Are you configured with SMTP or POP ? The problem is on receveid mails or sent mail or both ? If you go in your webmail, do you also have these duplicates ?
I am having the exact same problem. I have a Centurylnk email account. The problem started when Centurylink updated to a new, "better" system. I have also opened a ticket with them. Configured as POP. Received emails only. Multiples do NOT appear in the webmail client, only in Thunderbird. Not having the same issue with Gmail which I also access with Thunderbird.
Quentin and Kevin, thank you both for responding. Like Kevin, I have Centurylink as a provider. I am computer illiterate, so not sure how I am configured but my settings page says I have a POP mail server. The duplicates are only for received messages and do not appear in webmail. Should I open a ticket too?
Problem resolved. Centurylink must have fixed it. Thank you both for your time.
