Is it possible to have both Firefox & Google on my desktop PC

more options

I have both Firefox & Google on my desktop PC, Google is the default search engine yet it always dominates. How do I prevent this? I don't wish to remove Google.

Hi, let me separate two things:

(1) Default web browser

The default browser is the program that Windows sends links to from other applications, such as Acrobat. You can only have one default browser at a time. To use the other browser, you would need to click its icon and either do a search or paste the link there.

If you want to make Firefox your default browser, see: Make Firefox your default browser on Windows.

(2) Default search engine

Each different browser has a default search engine that you can change. In Chrome, which is Google's browser, the default search engine is Google search. In Edge, which is Microsoft's browser, it is Bing search.

In Firefox, the default search engine in most of the world is Google search. Mozilla, the maker of Firefox, does not have its own search site. If you prefer not to use Google search in Firefox, the following article describes how to change that to another one, such as DuckDuckGo: Change your default search settings in Firefox.
