The Add-Ons page in the Tools drop down menu won't open. After recently installing Google Desktop, now my Google Toolbar won't perform Google searches for news, images or web.

By any chance do you have the Personas Plus add-on, version 1.6 of that add-on is causing this type of problem.

If you do, you can start Firefox in safe mode, and whilst in safe mode you will be able to open the add-ons manager and either uninstall or disable Personas Plus, this should solve your problem.

For more details on this procedure see Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

After reporting this problem here I did a wider web search & discovered it WAS Personas add on that was causing the conflict. Now everything is back to normal. Thanks.

I can't even open my Add-Ons in safe mode. I have the Personas plug-in for several months, don't know if it's Personas Plus, but havn't had this problem until a few days ago. I upgraded to FF 3.6.8 most recently.

At thesame time this problem started, I started getting this error on tabs that I had open for several weeks: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (abine) isn't associated with any program."

So, I guess the question now is, If I can't open Add-Ons in safe mode, how do I disable Personas? Thanks.

ALSO - I keep getting this box that won't close if I choose "Stop Script - I have to hit "Continue," and even then it comes back up. Is this a 3.6.8 thing? Seems like nothing but problems! - - - - - - A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
