Cannot close tab after bookmarking.

After bookmarking a page using command d, I am unable to close a tab using command w. There is no problem if I bookmark a page without using the keyboard shortcut.

Can you close a tab via other means like via the file menu or via the right-click context menu of that tab or with a middle click on that tab?

Right clicking on the tab works, but if I go to File -> the Close Window and Close Tab are both grayed out.
