When I upgraded to Firefox 4 my refresh button stayed the same. I thought there was supposed to be a new one?
Using Windows XP, just updated Firefox and the refresh button is still on the left hand side. I thought with Firefox 4 it was supposed to be within the address bar?

You have to drag both the "refresh" button and the "stop" button to the right side of the address bar. Then click "done" and you should be good to go.

You may have updated 3.6 but still need to upgrade to version 4.0.
Right-Click on any part of the Navigation Toolbar (not on the url bar). You'll find an option to Customize (right below "Tabs on Top" option). Click on that. A window pops up. Now drag the refresh button from the left and put it to the right of the URL bar. The button wouldn't show any change at this point. Click on "Done" on the window that popped up. You should be having the new Refresh button now.
(This might happen when some addons are forcing to have refresh button on the left, or they have added new buttons on the right).
Thanks for the response, unfortunately that didn't work. Any other suggestions?
