Firefox 4 has no close button (X) on the right side of each windows tab. I did a quick restore to firefox 3.6 but that program no longer worked, so I downloaded version 4 again. That had glitches and freezups in it so I scanned it with "Advanced System Care , and C Clean. The freezups ended but still not able to close individual tabs and when I close the browser there is no longer an option window shown that would allow me to save tabs. Is there a se to keyboard keys for closing widow tab?

dunno why the close button(cross)is missing in your application, because it's visible in mine.perhaps u should uninstall FF, and download a completely new setup from the site, then run it.When i downloaded the setup the first time,my FF crashed and the monitor displayed that the files were corrupt. So i downloaded the setup again from chrome, and now it's working perfectly, with the close tabs button available.

If that doesn't work, switch to Chrome for a few days, until FF4 becomes popular and there are more people using it.Mozilla will surely release a good version then.

You can look at this pref: http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.tabs.closeButtons

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
