There are huge numbers of crash reports accumulating in CrashReports/pending folder. It seems that new entries are being created whenever I visit certain websites. Firefox itself never crashes though.

go to about:crashes and click on them to submit.

Your plugins list shows that you have the Mozilla ActiveX plugin installed.

  • Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin module

The Mozilla ActiveX plugin is not compatible with Firefox 2 and 3 and you should remove it.
