I want to delete Recent History, but the Tools menu only shows this in grey, so it won't work. What do I do?

I'm having trouble editing pages on my tumblr blog. They suggest I should delete cookies by clearing recent history. As I explain above, in the tools menu, it only comes up in grey, so it won't work.

What can you suggest, please?

I don't know if I'm running on Private Browsing. This option is also only in grey, like Delete Recent History, so I'm unable to click on it
