I downloaded the Firefos security update and when it finished I lost my Yahoo toolbar, all bookmarks and all open tabs. How can I restore this information?

Firefox suggested a security update to be downloaded. When I downloaded the update I lost my Yahoo Toolbar, my bookmarks and all my open tabs I was using at that time. The system restart provided a complete wipe out of all that information. Obviously my question is---How do I retrieve that information???
