have used firefox on vista computer for some time. I am able to copy the profile from there which appears to have bookmarks and other saved personal items but win 7 professional does not reveal where data for mozilla firefox data is saved, and firesfox does not let me browse for the file to import.

Hi jpparks,

to find your profile directory, just open about:support in a new tab and click on show in explorer

Another thing you could try is Firefox Sync.

Your answer did not make sense to me as I tried it but I did go to the help link from mozilla firefox and found instructions. For the record you type in the start menu search filled, "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles default. It popped up before I completed the string and then I pasted the contents into the new default folder and bookmarks as well as homepages, settings were all there.
