Firefox has a hissy fit when I try to type in a comment on Facebook and many other places. The browser is slow and sticky and stops responding on too many sites to list. This has gone on for 2 months now and all the toubleshooting and looking for a remedy is getting old.

Hi Voelker,

We've got a couple of troubleshooting sections that might help. You should look at this section about slow performance or you could try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit.

Hopefully this helps!

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
