Okay, I had some help from the community getting rid of the Launcher Bar on the bottom of my home page and it worked well for several months, then the other day Firefox crashed and when I got it restarted it also started throwing up the launcher bar again. I tried the solution given to my by madperson a few months ago but now it doesn`t seem to work even if I restart my computer. "Chosen solution by madperson

this line in the userContent.css file should hide the bar:

@-moz-document url("about:home") { #launcher {display:none!important} } "

When looking at the profiles.ini it seems Firefox has reconstructed itself to search another folder... 2lbb5bu1.default-1348169446250.

Can anyone come up with an idea to get rid of the launcher bar on the bottom of my Google homepage? THHHAAAAAANNNNK You!

That line should be in userContent.css and is still working for me in Firefox 16

The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
@-moz-document url(about:home){ #launcher { display:none!important; } }

This page gives information about removing unwanted third party toolbars.

That userChrome.css script should work in the new Profile as it did in the old Profile. Just repeat what you did the first time.

  1. Create a file named userChrome.css
  2. Create a chrome folder in that Profile, and put that userChrome,css file in that new folder.

Okay, I did as you suggested the-edmeister and when I opened FF Beta which is what I am using, I no longer had the tool bar at bottom but all my bookmarks were gone so I changed it back. So I thought "Well it may need all the files from the default folder." so I moved them over also and it still didn`t help. Any suggestions? Sorry for the late reply.

Also, I tried putting the 'chrome' folder in the path just after the 'profiles' folder. No luck.

cor-el Thank You very much for helping me out again. Also the-edmeister and finitarry, I appreciate so much you guys taking the time to help me with my problem. With you guys help I was once again able to get rid of the launcher bar at the bottom of my start page. I`m not sure why I was having trouble but it was very kind of you all to help me. Hopefully, I will be able to sort this out should it reoccur. Apologize for the lengthy time of response. I have been very busy. Hope you all have a good week and a good Halloween!
