Why are some activation buttons, which allow actication or deactivation of add-ons, missing for some of my add-ons in the add-on manager?
e.g., The Microsoft Silverlight add-on is missing the buttons and is greyed out. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Silverlight program, but that did not help.
Netflix needs the Silverlight add-on, so now I cannot watch Netflix.
Please help. I do not want to have to use Internet Explorer.
I have a screen shot showing the problem (the missing 'choice-buttons') but you don't seem to provide any means of uploading it.
Thanks

Sorry about the lack of a screen shot upload in the question form. You can reply to yourself to upload it.
Do you have Silverlight version 5.1.20513.0? If you have an older version, you may need to update.

Do you see any error messages on the about:plugins page about the status of those plugins?
Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
See Re-initializing the plugins database:
Thanks for your replies.
I have the latest version of Silverlight.
There are no error messages on the about:plugins page about the status of the greyed-out plugins...they just list as "State: Disabled"
Re-initializing the plugins database had no effect when I did it. Everything remains the same.
The full list of affected plugins is: Flash Player, QuickTime, Silverlight and Adobe Acrobat. They are all greyed out with no option buttons on the right hand side.
Here is a screen shot of the Add-ons Manager. I had already uninstalled Flash Player and QuickTime at this point. As you can see, there is no way ti enable the affected add-ons.
Thanks
Thanks. I already have the latest version.
