Most of the time, the Awesome Bar flat out doesn't work. While I can type in an address into it, pressing Enter or the Go button on the bar do not work. I've tried restarting my computer, clearing cache, starting in Safe Mode and it still doesn't work. This is only a minor issue as it doesn't affect my browsing too much, but I was wondering if it could be fixed.

(This might be an issue with Nightly, but if it's only an issue I'm having, then I was wondering if there is a fix)

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
