Is this the exact add-on you have installed? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/latest-bbc-news/

If so, if you look at the first screenshot it shows the BBC News button on the Navigation Toolbar, where it should appear in Firefox 29 since the Add-on Bar was removed. Using an Add-on Bar extension probably won't automatically place that button on the "restored" Add-on Bar.

Beyond that, you may need to contact the developer of that Add-on for help. Another user mentioned that button being lost all the way back in February, here: http://www.redrobe.com/mike/bbc-news-add-ons-for-firefox-and-chrome/

you know, these solutions may work for this particular extension, but it really doesn't answer the question asked, which was: "How do i get an extension to appear in the add-on bar?". How about answering that question?
