Why does the font in Firefox and Firefox derived browsers distort? At the start it seemes fine, but then distorts. I have tried resetting my fonts, but this does not help.

Try to create a new Boolean pref on the about:config page via the right-click context menu with the name layout.paint_rects_separately and set the value to true and leave hardware acceleration enabled.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
