Password Manager is loosing entries, IE "forgetting" certain sites
Firefox password manager seems to have lost entries for websites I frequent. I know the usernames and passwords were being filled in just great. Latter I will go to a website and there is no autofill, Then I will go to the password manager and there is no entry for that website
I'm using Firefox 33.1 under windows xp. When I was checking for version number under about firefox it looks like firefox began downloading an upgrade.
Thanks

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
I restarted FireFox in safe mode. The missing website entry was not restored to my saved passwords. I am not able to tell if an extension is causing the problem if the missing website entries are still missing while in Safe Mode, and I'm unable to predict which other entries might go missing and when. I do not use an alternate theme for For firefox, nor do I use Advance System Care.
After the upgrade I am using Firefox 33.1.1 under windows xp
You can make a backup copy of the logins.json and key3.db (master password) files.

Then you will be able to restore the logins.json file with Firefox closed in case you lose passwords.
