after importing my profile from another computer, I cannot add new bookmarks
I imported my existing profile from my old computer (failing hard drive) to a new one, and while I can see all of my old bookmarks, it seems that I cannot add bookmarks. The button does not respond when I attempt to bookmark new pages. How can I fix this?

Did you restore the full content of the Firefox profile folder?
It is usually best to only recover the data that you really need. It sounds that you have a problem with the places.sqlite database file. So you should check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

If you restored the bookmarkbackups folder with the JSON backups as well then Firefox should restore the bookmarks. Otherwise you can restore the bookmarks yourself from a JSON backup.
