Why is McAfee Site Advisor offered as an add-on when it is not compatible with Firefox?

With Site Advisor enabled the Firefox tab line is taken over by Chinese characters to the extent that the entire line becomes unreadable. The only solution is to disable the add-on. This has been going on for months now - I have reinstalled and started using IE 11 again in frustration. Can the problem be fixed? If so, how long is it going to take?
