Composing email, how do i get TB to automatically link web addresses?

Just switching to Thunderbird as email client. When composing an email, I'd like any web address I type to be automatically hyperlinked, rather than need to use the menu option. Is there a setting for this?

Email address and URLs are not active in the compose window. As long as you enter them correctly they will be active when sent and received. You can save to drafts or send one to yourself to test.
