firefox 37.0.2 mac auto search when drag search text to search menu box not working
i'm a long time firefox user but always on a windows platform. i can currently highlight and drag and drop browser text in windows FF 37.0.2 to the FF search bar an it will *automatically* search for it when i drop (let up on the mouse). i do NOT have then hit enter.
however, i've recently bought a mac and on FF 37.0.2 *mac* version, dragging and dropping browser text to the search box ALWAYS FORCES ME TO HIT ENTER TO DO THE SEARCH.. IT'S NOT AUTOMATIC AND I DON'T SEE ANYWHERE TO CONFIGURE IT???? starting FF in safe mode doesn't fix the issue.
any thoughts on how to fix this? it's really annoying as it slows down my normal work flow since i search a lot. as stated above the problem seems to be specific to FF mac as the same version FF windows works like it always has for me.
thanks

I'm not able to get this to work on Firefox on windows (either v37.0.2 or v38).
However, I did find that if you drag the text just over the arrow in the search box, you can lift up and then immediately click in order to search very quickly- without having to click 'Enter.'
thanks for the tip but it doesn't work on FF 37.0.2 on mac for whatever reason.
Were you ever able to find a resolution to this issue?
unfortunately not. like i said works on windows. not on mac.
is this the only way to get support from firefox? where are the developers that write the code? or someone directly responsible for the product
I am using Windows 7, and have the same issue.
