Keep getting an "UIComponent is null" error. Closing the browser gets rid of it only for a few days.

Using FF 31.6.0 on a Dell laptop with Win 7. Using a VPN to access my company's network.

While working, the following error will suddenly appear out of nowhere:

UIComponent is null ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #6811

If you click on the OK button to close it, it pops right back up, barring you from updating the window.

If I close the tab, it appears on other tabs too. If I close the browser, it goes away for a few days, then pops up again.

Please help!

Is there a reason you are using a very old version of Firefox?

Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems {web link}

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Are you using a bookmark to reach this page?

If that is the case then the bookmark might be corrupted.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
