When deleting emails Thunderbird locks up and must be forced to close.

Details are in the question! When deleting emails the program locks up/stops responding. When this happens I have to force it to close with the task manager, then open and start all over again. This has been happening for some time now and with previous Tbird versions.

Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.

- XP http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode.
