I have Thunderbird on 3 different computers, all connecting to the same email account, but they do not always appear to be in sync

I access my personal email account with Thunderbird from 3 different computers/smart devices. They do not always appear to be in sync. For example, I deleted hundreds of my emails from one of my computers but they still showed up in my account from one of the other computers. Maybe I don't understand how the settings work?

Only IMAP sync's multiple devices since it is server based. POP only downloads messages from the server Inbox and stores them on the local drive. There is no communication back to the server about deleting messages. You should learn the differences between POP and IMAP to decide what works best for you.

It appears that reconfiguring to IMAP has solved my problems.

Thanks to Airmail!!
