I know this is not the first message on this but it has been a problem for YEARS and hasn't been addressed. Every day I deal with it, messages that are junk stay in my inbox until i tell them to move to trash. Because I've had the same email/domain for 15 years it's rather out of hand with hundreds per day, and as we move to mobile this becomes an ever greater problem. I've looked into this issue for years and am a bit confused why after so many years and updates thunderbird still doesn't properly move junk mail to junk or trash.

I'm not creating a new thread because I didn't find one about junk mail problems, I'm creating one because I'm annoyed that after many years this hasn't been dealt with so obviously commenting "me too" on an old thread won't do anything.

You're marking them as junk. Why is there such a problem moving them to trash?!?

I had such a problem for a short time, and I think is was while I was using MSE as my anti virus.

Periodically someone will come along and say their junk mail does not move. But when they are told try without add-ons using safe mode and try Windows safe mode with networking they rarely if ever post back, or they simply refuse.

Now I do not know if it fixes their issue, because I do not get any feedback. I think many simply go "it is all to hard". But I also know that the move messages setting works for me when turned on for GMX, Yahoo, Google and Outlook.com/Hotmail I have tried it with both IMAP and POP I have had it working on every version of Thunderbird since 5 (I had my issues on V3)
