Went to my Trash to sort it by the From name and found that all the messages were meaningless for that sender. Normally when you click a column heading and it sorts, all the data gets sorted with that column. Suddenly things are wrong. I did the sort on From and then the messages for each email from that person were not the messages from him. What has happened? Not a problem with the inbox that I can see, but my trash is wrong. Luckily when I re-sorted it by date everything was re-joined and made sense.

the problem is not the column heading. It is the sorting. But - that said, I went to do it again and lo and behold the problem has gone away.

I know, I know. It never happened and I was seeing things. I assure that I was not. And that it was a problem. But I can't duplicate it now, so case closed.

does the heading actually say From? it has been replaced in most situations with Correspondents. A very difference kettle of fish.
