In many e-mails that I have during one day I also receive mail from specific person always with specific subject. Sometime is just one mail, but sometimes is couple of mails during one day. My request is how to set up my Thunderbird to give me notification for every mail that I got from specific person with specific subject? That notification should be on desktop without sound, and it should last for at least 30 sec.

Possible option: Please note I have not used the addon, but it may be worth trying. It does not state it is compatible with recent versions, but that does not necessarilly mean it won't work.

If not already filtering to a specific folder then do the following: Create a folder for those specific emails Create a Message filter to put certain emails from specific sender into a specific folder.

Then see if you can use this addon extension to create a sound when new mail arrives in that folder.

In order to install a downloaded extension, please do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Drag your downloaded XPI file to the Add-ons Manager tab and drop it.

or

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Click the gear icon at the top-right corner to the left of the search box and select Install Add-on From File…
  3. Locate the XPI file you downloaded and click Open.
  4. You may need to restart Thunderbird when prompted.
