How do I delete Firefox that has been damaged and reload?

more options

Firefox lost its user profile and will not load. Error message says profile was moved or lost. Have tried reloading with new version but same error message appears. Program does not show in Finder or anywhere else except bar at bottom of screen. This problem is the result of a grandchild trying to update Firefox and then panicking so grandpa doesn't get mad. How do I delete and start over?

Try creating a new profile first. It won't have your bookmarks or other data, but it's a starting point. This article describes how to use the Profile Manager to do that: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles.

Once you have Firefox running, we can move on to the next step of looking for your missing data. Please don't delete anything Firefox-related, just in case.
