drop down book marks show only 1/2 my folders. how do I get them back?

Today I find half my folders in bookmark drop down folder missing. If I go to web site where folder missing, the star next to bookmark menu goes blue, however, there is no corresponding folder. I took one site created a folder and because the star was blue I could not add it to the new folder because it referenced the missing folder.

What did I do" and how do I get those missing folders back? or how do I recreate them?

It is possible that you have moved some folders to another location in the bookmarks folder tree. You can click the highlighted star to see in what folder the bookmark is stored to see if that allows to find the missing bookmarks elsewhere in a folder.

I had checked out all folders to see if I moved them into one of them. Not all my previously sites in bookmark folders show up with the blue star. When the one or two have, I will have to see if I can find out where the folder is located. From yesterday, I thought I could see all folders but only about half of them show up on the bookmarked folder drop down menu
