Do you mean on your custom homepage itself?
yes, my home page.
my home 0age suddenly shows Fresno data--I do not live in Fresno , but want data including weather for Quincy, CAHow can I change the location for this?
What's the address of the home page? Is it the main Google news page, or something custom?
Main page:
Mine redirects to:
https://news.google.com/news/?ned=us&hl=en
Is yours pointing to a different section or to a different site?
mine redirects to the same as yours. The thing is, I do not live in or anywhere near Fresno , Ca, but this page shows a pane for the weather and news of that city. I do not want to have to see that . I want weather, etc that relates to my OWN LOCATION Can't I delete some panes that I do not want? the older version of this planted my own, local weather right where I wanted it
Could you try this page to see whether you can choose your preferred city here:
https://news.google.com/news/settings/locations?ned=us&hl=en
I looked at it but didn't test it myself.
You can use websites like these to see how your location is reported via a reverse DNS look up of your IP:
I did go to that page, entered the location I wanted---but it does not alter the location shown on the home page at all. I guess what UI really want to do is EDIT that home page's panes! I cannot seem to do that
We may be getting different layouts. I get Headlines. There's a horizontal bar where I can change to Local. Local shows my location and in the lower right corner, the weather. I haven't tried to customize any of it; I didn't see any options for making my own layout.
