How do I disable "Restore previous session" in Firefox? (2018)

Basically, it's the same problem as someone from 4 years ago had, in my options the "restore previous session" checkbox is unticked. But more often than not when I restart my computer firefox launches itself, and it opens my tabs from when I shut the computer down. I've checked the profile folder and there is no user.js file to get rid of. Ontop of this I've checked and firefox is not enabled on startup, so it shouldn't even be launching itself before I press the icon to start it up.

A complete stab in the dark, but it could be that Firefox isn't properly closed when you shut down the computer and Firefox will think that it has crashed .....

Would you try this please :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes

and set its value to false

Then close and restart Firefox.
