Savvy Firefox [FF]/Win user..All appropriate FF settings properly config.. multiple system/FF re-boots, Win [10] clears from every direction, DNS flush, LAN [modem router/power-downs/clears/re-boots ].. FF's 'Cached Web Content' persists..saw earlier thread from user experiencing same issue with basic advice ending in no-fix..this is very troubling and fairly recent as I 'Clear Data' frequently..please help..

Did you ever use external cleanup software in case some files are corrupted?

You can try to remove the cache2 folder manually. See the about:cache and about:profiles pages for the location used for the disk cache. The about:profiles page has a button to go to the secondary profile location that is used for temporary like the disk cache.

You can open "about:" pages via the location/address bar.

  • "about:" is a protocol to access special pages

Where is this cached content reported?

Is this in Cookies and Site Data?

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

Firefox stores some local data (indexedDB) in the storage folder in the main profile folder that can be considered as cached web content.

Yes.. and Checking the local device contents of 'cache2' see only scanty entry's from today's session[s]..KB's not MB's of data as I 'save' nothing on the fly or on exit and on examining the files they don't appear to be corrupted..

Per your advice re 'About', I've not used that utility and can't locate 'path' per your suggestion..can you clarify that please..??

Trying to 'clear data' from the two [2] directions at FF's high level, the utility repeatedly clears from 5.9 down to 5.4 MB., but re-invoking a session re-ups contents of 'Cached Web Content' to the 5.9MB with the 5.4MB remaining..

The behavior smacks of 'zombie cookie' but seems improbable as I employ strict 'best practice' browsing style and have very strict settings both in FF and @ firewall. Wondering if the other users that are experiencing this/a similar problem have the same 5.4MB/5.9MB 'profile'. How does one report a 'bug' to FF..??

Again, The behavior smacks of 'zombie cookie' so this is urgent for me and I need to know how to open a trouble ticket if such is available via FF proper particularly if other users are experiencing this/a similar problem with this 5.4MB/5.9MB 'profile'. .

I did find 'about' employing 'about:about' syntax..thank you cor-el. In browsing and attempting to parse 'about:config' I ran across several of cor-el posts re cache issues years past.
