Cannot set up a new e-mail with Thunderbird via gandi
Hi Guys. Any suggestions gratefully received. Installed Thunderbird ok, started it running tried to set up new e-mail via gandi everything went fine until I clicked on the .site with my new e-mail suggested to pay the $0.99/year. Just goes to secure site for payment and hangs. Tried re-installing several times but same everytime. Windows 10 system AVG antivirus. Tried deleting temp files no joy. Many thanks

Many thanks for your prompt reply, Agnes. I have managed to set up Thunderbird with a new e-mail address which I did by going straight to the Gandi site buying a domain and setting-up a e-mail address on their site. I then entered my new e-mail address into Thunderbird and everything worked fine. I still do not follow what the initial problem was: Thunderbird gave me the option of using my existing e-mail address or to click on get a new address. When I clicked on get a new address and typed in a name I wanted to use a list of domains appeared via gandi.net. When I clicked on the one I wanted (.site) showing a yearly cost in US$ this took me to a secure payment page which was blank and the system hung. Anyway, it works now but many thanks. Best wishes John

Hi Please explain in more detail - what site are you on when trying to pay? This does not seem to be a function of Thunderbird email client. If you are trying to pay Gandi, perhaps you could ask Gandi support? If you are donating to support Thunderbird, try here. https://donate.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ Best wishes, Agnes

Hi John Glad you were able to get that sorted out. Thunderbird does have two providers that you can theoretically sign up with from within Thunderbird, but any glitches at the provider end can leave Thunderbird stuck. There used to be more choices of provider - just two left now. Agnes
