Thunderbird Version 68.8.1

I get the following message after sending 1 email, why ?.

An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded 550 5. 7. 1 xxxxxxxxxx Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged. xxxxxxxxxxxx Please check the message recipient xxxxxxxxxx and try again

The emails I am trying to send are generally a reply to incoming emails so the addresses are good, it also happens to known email addresses. If i close the program and restart it, the first email goes then I get the same message and failure to send.

I guess you are sending mail from say a gmail mail account using you ISPs mail server. This used to be how US based providers insisted you do it. They required you to pass all mail through them so they new to whom you communicated. No they actively prevent it.

If you use an email address it has to have it's own outgoing server to send through. so if you send from a gmail account, you see a message about connecting to a gmail server to send the mail.
