When "download headers only" is selected and then a particular message is selected and ordered to "Download the rest of the message", it only completes the download if the message is kept active. There is no way to go through a list of messages, hit download for each desired one to get the rest of the message and move on to the next message. The moment I move to the next message the download stops. Is there a way to get all clicked downloads to continue in the background?

Are you viewing messages in the Message Pane? If so, does the download stop if you open other messages in tabs or windows?

I just tried opening a message in a new tab. Same thing. If I move the focus from the tab the download stops.

If you restart the computer in 'SAfe mode with Networking' and then start Thunderbird, do you still get same problem?

I don't think this is a bug or an anomaly. I'm pretty sure Thunderbird is designed this way and could use an improvement on this issue. Does anyone not see the same thing I do with "Download the rest of the message"?
